Setting up alerts

The fastest way to setup alerts it to use the official Deeper Network quick start.

  • In New Relic, click Instant Observability in the top right.

  • Search Deeper, you will find Deeper Network, click on it to begin. qs

  • Click on Install this quickstart

    • You can also see what is bundled into this quick start for you. qs2
  • Select your account, and continue

  • We have already done the deeper-cli installation, so we can click Skip this step

  • Complete the remaining steps

  • You will be taken to a prebuilt dashboard which can show and filter multiple deeper connect devices.

    • You can duplicate/edit or do whatever you like with this dashboard.
  • Alerts will also be automatically setup

  • Navigate to Alerts & AI

  • Click on Policies on the left

    • You will then see the deeper-network Quickstart alert policy.
    • Clicking on it will show you the 3 defined alerts for your Deeper Connect device being Memory, CPU and Temperature.

These alerts are defined via NRQL (New Relic Query Language) as you can see it is very similar to SQL. You can add your own alert conditions or edit and tailor them to your needs. See the next section on how to query all your data which will be useful in setting further NRQL alerts.
