I’m experiencing significant delays and unexpected behavior when logging into EnteAuth on Linux Mint 21.3. This issue occurs across multiple installation methods (.deb, Flatpak, and .appimage).
Expected Behavior:
After launching EnteAuth, the login screen should appear promptly, allowing for quick and responsive login without any unrelated applications opening.
Actual Behavior:
When I start EnteAuth, it takes approximately 1-2 minutes for the login screen to appear. Once visible, the app may freeze or show a “not responding” message. Choosing "Wait" allows the application to continue, but it still has significant lag in registering input.
Interestingly, when creating a new account instead of logging in, EnteAuth works smoothly without delays.
Additionally, on one occasion, another window unexpectedly opened for Ente Photos Cloud Storage, which I did not install.
Steps to Reproduce:
Install EnteAuth on Linux Mint 21.3 using .deb, Flatpak, or .appimage.
Attempt to log into an existing account and observe the delay and occasional unresponsive behavior.
Optional: Try creating a new account to see if the performance issue is specific to the login process.
Note any unexpected application behavior, like the Ente Photos Cloud Storage window opening.
Environment:
OS: Linux Mint 21.3 Installation methods tried: .deb, Flatpak, .appimage
Version
4.0.2
What product are you using?
Ente Auth
What platform are you using?
Desktop - Linux
the problem still exists in the version: 4.1.0
