I'm maybe really late to the party, but was looking through some of @tmcw 's old writings and found his post on Polite Technology really helpful. This post on how to report a bug was also well written IMHO.
As we continue to work through these issues in the ml5 project, maybe we can think about providing good models to be friendly and caring to one another in our communication.

Agreed! Since this is a more open idea, I think it might be worthwhile to transfer this over to the CoC repo. The Code of Conduct Committee may be able to take this on as a focus. Additionally, since this will apply to all of our repos, the CoC repo may be a better place for this discussion to live.
