In the past few years, South Florida has rapidly emerged as a growing tech hub, attracting numerous major tech firms and creating a vibrant environment for innovation and growth. Despite this progress, many organizations in the region still lack awareness and understanding of the OSPO model. To address this gap and further cultivate the open-source landscape, we propose the establishment of a dedicated OSPO community in South Florida, covering the major cities of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.
As a strategic gateway between LATAM and North America, South Florida holds a unique position that can facilitate cross-continental collaboration and knowledge sharing. The growth of the CNCF community group in South Florida, which I co-lead with key members, underscores the region's readiness and need for a localized OSPO group. By creating a focused OSPO community in South Florida, we aim to build awareness, foster collaboration, and enhance the overall ecosystem. This initiative will not only support local organizations in their open-source endeavors but also strengthen South Florida's role as a pivotal connector in the tech landscape in the Americas.
