What is your idea?

Add another page element that's like a Footer except the entire window width instead of just the reading column.

Why is this feature necessary?

A lot of sites have a "toolbelt footer" where you've got links to other info related to the company or tool. Docs sites also have these, and it'd be nice to have a default one.
