Implement unit tests using pytest.

  • unit tests
  • see project release-notes-generator (and related PRs) for inspiration.
  • do not mix pytest with unittest framework.

Implementing code coverage

  • for observation of code coverage by unit tests use pytest-cov.
  • goal is 80+% score.

Note: Unit tests have to run on both local and CI.
